For this brief me and my group partner Alexa were tasked to create a new sub-brand for Ernest Adams, that were to be a competitor of Arnotts Farmbake cookies. This sub-brand needed to be based around our chosen emergent macro-trend, which was Sustainability. We decided on 'Chunkies', cookies that are made of locally sourced ingredients, while also having an added 'chunky goodness.' The chunks in the cookies were what we wanted our main focus to be on, as they were different to a lot of other cookie brands, and offered a more decadent cookie, while also being something families would enjoy too.
The locally sourced side to these cookies reflected our macro-trend as they are about supporting local, which then not only supports the communities throughout our country, but also reduces carbon emissions. We have included a 'Meet the Farmer' section on the back of the packaging, which interacts with the consumer, and creates a face to face relationship between the suppliers and customers.
We decided on a fun, colourful design for our packaging, that appeals to all, while incorporating imagery of our ingredients and a window looking into the package, showcasing the goodness inside.
